St.Patrick's day.... Oh, yeah, I remember that stuff! It's about the color pink, right? No, that was Chinese New Year's. Valentine's day was about green and blue.

(Yes, I'm joking, so stop heart-attacking)

Someday, I'd like to build a robot with super cool factor, with a magnetic attraction to money and fame, but how...? What's the key...? What am I missing...?

Any tips or advice Jamie?

Unit -

Check out hackaday or geekologie for a couple weeks on the web and you will see what gets a ton of publicity. Also, your project needs to be original.

As for the fame part, you can generate that part yourself easily! Once you have a good idea, email links, a great description, and some clean pics of it to every geek/hack/gizmo site editor you can find. Once you get picked up by a few, the others will link to it. It kind of snowballs. What you have to realize is, the editors have to find tons of new content for their sites every day. They love it when you make their job easier!

But the key is to be original... and lots of flash.

ps - I am meeting with a chrome plating company this week about a sponsorship...I plan to pimp BaR2's wheels and possibly frame.

Good advice, this stuff is gold!

Original is given, but Flash... as in, LED's, or show-off-ed-ness?

PS: Good luck with the sponsorship!

flash as in the bot (or project) needs to be very finished looking. (ie looks like a prototype that came from a store). In my case, I used tons of chrome finishing trim and sintra. Case mods get a lot of attention on those sites as well (patrick's would get attention).
